Michel de Man

An experienced and accomplished drummer, Michel has been drumming since he was 12 years old. Listening to his playing and techniques, it is no surprise that his main influences are Ronnie Tutt, from Elvis Presley’s band, and the inimitable and legendary jazz drummer, Buddy Rich.

Within a few years of first picking up the drumsticks, Michel had gained a great deal of experience playing in several bands and projects. He had become a sought after drummer in the rock, jazz, blues and country music scenes.

In addition to playing the drums, Michel is also a keen guitarist. In the 1980s, he played guitar in Dune Country, which was a popularbluegrass band at that time.

After a short break, Michel returned to drumming in bands in 2007. Shortly after that, he played with John Frick in the Blues Hombres (2009). From there, the pair went on to form the John Frick Blues Band in 2011.

Michel was a co-founder of The John Frick Band in its present form in 2014.
